customs and traditions are habits acquired when some practice or act is repeated frequently .These  customs are assumed by the entire community and are transmitted from generation to generation , transforming them into traditions .

 BELOW WE SHOW YOU THE TRADITIONS OF OUR ECUADOR 

The devilish Pillareña 

Place : pillaro city located north of tungurahua 

Date : january 1 to 6 

As its name indicates , this celebrations is characterized by dances performend by men and women disguised as devils . Although , they can also dress up as other characters such as guaricha or capariche.

 

CARNAVAL

LOCATION : All of Ecuador 

DATE : february 

This celebrations is characterized by the use of water , carnaval foam , annatto , eggs and any other substace that involves making someone else dirty . This is a time of rejoicing , where many families visit fresh and salt  water spas . being a national holiday the beaches , swimming pools rivers waterfalls and other similas place are saturated by the arrival of many tourists.

RODEO MONTUVIO 

Location: Los ríos , Guayas , El oro and Manabí

Date : October  

 

This festival includes the election of the pretty creole , parades of men riding their horses , rodeos ,declamation of amorfinos competitions with riders and horses among other activities characteristic of each locality 

LA MAMA NEGRA 

Place : Latacunga

Date : september and november  

The main character of this celebration is the " blck MAMA " which is represented by a man with his face painted black and dressed in an extravagant way and with many colors .

CUARESMA 

Place : todo el ecuador 

Date : february 17 to april 3
